San Clemente, CA – A multi-vehicle accident occurred on the I-5 near Avenida Pico, injuring four people, two of them critically.  How the crash happened is unclear, but some witnesses reported that a vehicle and a big rig collided as they were exiting the freeway. The collision occurred on the off ramp, but the impact pushed the cars into the intersection.  A box truck and an SUV were also reported to be involved.  Two women were critically injured and were taken to Mission Hospital.  One of the women had to be cut out of her vehicle.   Another person suffered minor injuries, and the fourth person declined to be treated.  The off ramp was closed for a few hours after the crash.
