Officer Hurt When SUV Fails To Yield To Emergency Vehicle

Chicago, IL –A black SUV went around a stopped car and hit a marked police Chevy Tahoe with its lights and sirens activated, injuring the police officer.  The accident occurred at the intersection of Division Street and LaSalle Street about 7 a.m.  The police car was heading west on Division Street to a report of an assault in progress and a person on the tracks at the Fullerton Red Line stop.  The SUV was heading south on LaSalle Street and did not yield to the police car.  It broadsided the police car on the passenger side.  The female plice officer was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.  Her injuries were not life-threatening.  The driver of the SUV was cited for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and damage to city property.  Find a lawyer to help you with your accident case at CHICAGO-ACCIDENTLAWYERS.COM.
