Over the weekend, a cabdriver in north Evanston died Wednesday.
Sunday around 2.a.m. Evanston police responded to a cab that struck a vehicle parked in the 500 block of Elmwood Avenue, according to a release from Cmdr. Jay Parrott, from Evanston police.
Officers determined the cab driver was shot in the head. He later was identified by Cook County Medical Examiner’s office as Leodis Blackburn, Parrott said.
Blackburn, 50, was pronounced dead at 5:10 p.m. on Wednesday at Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office stated.
