Sacramento, CA –A 29-year-old man was sentenced to four years and nine months in prison today for conspiring to distribute a controlled substance and for identity theft. Raymond Reyes was sentenced by U.S. District Judge John A. Mendez. Reyes was a medical assistant who worked for a cardiologist in Sacramento. Using the doctor’s name he called in prescriptions for hydrocodone to pharmacies using false names. Then he would pick up the prescriptions or have someone else do it for him. He illegally obtained 508 prescriptions or about 97,000 pills. The …
